hey folks. it has been almost exactly one year since i posted. so i've been a little slow with the creativing. it happens. i have however finally posted my albums for free download which i think i told about ten people i'd do in two weeks more than a year ago. i'm sorry it took so long folks. but they are here. check in the releases section. there still remains one album i want to post, but that'll come soon. as well i plan on putting up the pdf's of the zines. maybe sometime soon i'll make something new. transitioning (from male to female) has proven quite a distraction. who knew?

it's fall and the the wind is changing. i'm super excited to travel and see the east coast again. i've been adding more and more dates to the tour. their posted on the myspace page. the mail order will get updated sometime soon i hope so y'all can get things that way. if you want. who ever writes first and mail orders would be the first person to ever mail order an album from here. that means, goodies...

well the time has come with new releases and such, for me to tour again.
i'm excited.
so far i've got shows in montreal, toronto, guelph, hamilton, moncton, halifax, charlettetown. there'll likely be some shows in st. john's as well. and maybe some others. check the myspace page for the deeeeets.

so, today i got my ears pierced. but that's not why i'm writing.
i'm going to pick up the new discs from the plant on monday (i hope), and i've been working on the booklet for the new solo album tonight (the other booklets are much smaller and are done).
i've been drumming for a band in montreal called sissyfist . (the name is a hidden link....) (pretty sneaky eh? i do that sometimes...)
also southern souls finished the video and i really like it. it's for a song called 'in front of the t.v. you can watch it by clicking on this word . the song also appears on a compilation called 'can i punk mail my heart' that i'm pretty sure you can get a copy of here .
i'm planning on starting to book a tour for september. i'd like to go out east and back. if you've got a house, or know of a house/not a bar, that's a fun place to play for a queer tranny, i'd love to hear about it and maybe we can set something up.
so things are coming. hopefully the video and the sissyfist recordings whet your appetite for more...

for anyone that's curious...
it's been ages since i wrote anything on this blog. it seems weird to me to update a website that is about me when not much has been going on in regards to the art that i make. more personally, i just moved to montreal in december. i moved. that was a big thing... but some small updates...
there are three albums reeeeealllly close to being done or that are done and just need to be pressed:
1. kit wilson-yang and germaine liu
2. chris yang and sarah ayton - little brown
3. the very first kit wilson-yang solo album... yup.

southern souls just filmed some songs today, so some videos will be coming soon and drawn and quarterly has copies of 'the rain' and 'the story of the mountain and the cloud'
more things soon, and hopefully more zines in more places.

finally it's here!
i haven't figured out how to make it so y'all can download it, but you can listen to it here. i'm excited. this is the band i was in with tegan (violin) and mike (drums). we only played a few shows, but they were memorable. if anyone that's really saavy with computers can tell me a good way to make it so people can download this please contact me kit.magnolia@gmail.com . cheers. the songs are short, with quick changes and odd time signatures. some of them are real pretty. i hope you enjoy it...

so a bit ago the first ever chris yang video was made by mitch at phil's house. phil plays in a sweet band called lakeriser. it was a really fun show, i was a bit tired and grumpy, so apologies way too late to anyone i may have had an odd interaction with... sorry. i was real excited to be playing a show in hamilton with two ladies on the bill who played AMAZING sets. awesome to see. i hope i hope there is lots more. y'know? so so check out these links as well secret annie shaw and and sarah good.

since i last did this here internet updating thing... i basically had a sweet august.
and september has been for the most part amazing. i have just finished a book of poems called 'four heavens' which you can find in the release section of this blooog. coming soon is another story book, and a whole lot of music. a whole lot.

changes of state is an eight song e.p. i recorded sometime in the winter. there is a booklet that has eight pictures in it that i think would make an excellent short film (attention film makers!) it's pretty bare bones but my friends seem to love it. which ultimately is what counts. you can hear some of the tracks on myspace and you can order it by e-mailing me at iamtheyang@gmail.com, it's 6 bucks in the mail or interesting trades.

the story of the mountain and the cloud is a picture book about a mountain who overhears snippets of storied from passing clouds and wishes to hear more. due to the speed of clouds versus the speed of mountains this proves to be difficult. you can hear me read it here thesethingsthatpeoplemake.blogspot.com , by contacting sarah mangle. the interview happened in may 2009. the cost of the book is 3-6 or interesting trades. yup.
